Workopolis dominated recruitment advertising in Canada for more than a decade, before Recruit Holdings Co., Ltd., owners of Indeed.com, acquired the business in April 2018.
In addition to its successful generalist job board, the company ran several career centre websites for major Canadian associations. However, when Recruit Holdings purchased the business, these associations where left without a job board provider – that’s where Madgex stepped in.
During the run up to the acquisition, Madgex where selected as the sole preferred supplier for the network’s impressive list of clients. The catch was, there was just 40 days to migrate them all onto the new platform.
Mike Fahey, Executive Vice President for Madgex in North America explains:
“If they didn’t move quickly this niche network would cease to exist. We knew we had the technology, experience and manpower to prevent this from happening.”
Madgex made such an impression that over 20 clients decided to move over to their platform, including the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario, Registered Nurses Association of Ontario and Canadian Payroll Association.
Richard Green, Business Development Manager in Canada, explains:
“We approached each association and offered them a solution that would ensure they had a full site upgrade and could continue to offer their services to thousands of employers across Canada.”
The team at Madgex worked quickly and professionally to ensure a seamless transition for all those involved. As a result, there was no downtime on any of the sites and, true to their word, no loss in revenue or traffic.
In total Madgex migrated 20 sites in 40 days, a fantastic achievement – much to the delight of their new clients.
