Over the last 12 months the demand for mobile enabled websites has increased exponentially due to the dramatic increase in smartphone sales. The latest figures reveals that sales are up 78% from this time last year thanks to new devices launched by Apple, HTC and RIM.
At Madgex we carefully monitor how new technologies can change job seekers web consumption habits and build this into our evolving job board roadmap. Over the last few months our research and development team have been building and testing our new mobile web functionality which is part of the latest Madgex job board platform release.
Haymarket Business Media’s Management Today Jobs is our first client to launch on the new platform with a fully enabled mobile site. The move is part of Haymarket’s ongoing programme, which will see all of their sites migrating to the latest version of the Madgex job board platform, with integrated CV Search & Match, by the end of 2010. Once completed, Haymarket will benefit from a multi-channel job board platform designed to maximize their reach to job seekers either at their desk or on the move.
The mobile interface was carefully designed by our development team to replicate job seekers mobile browsing behaviour for improved user experience. This allows job seekers to search or browse for jobs based on various search criteria such as sector, location and salary band. Once job seekers have found a relevant job they can view the entire job detail then apply directly from their mobile device. To apply for a job candidates will need to have an existing account on Management Today Jobs already set up so their CV can be sent with their application. When applying for a job on the mobile site job seekers will simply need to enter their email address and password to complete their application.
The Madgex roadmap will ensure that future platform updates will mirror advances in mobile technology to enhance the mobile job seeking experience further. As mobile devices become more sophisticated this will enable increased functionality to be added and will create a better user experience.
Over the next few weeks the migration process will continue with sites including Brand Republic Jobs and Campaign Jobs Asia upgrading to our latest platform release. Moving forward both these sites will also be launching fully branded versions of our second generation push notification iPhone app to fully engage with their mobile community. This will further strengthen their online presence and help to drive traffic to their job boards and increase levels of applications.
