Madgex is excited to announce the beginning of their first ever health week. Thanks to funding from Workplace Health we have successfully managed to curate a week of healthy eating and sports activities for the entire team at Madgex.
For one week our lovely staff will be treated to a choice of delicious and healthy salads every day, all supplied by locally based Foodilic, who specialise in supplying healthy food to the people of Brighton. On top of this we will have a fresh fruit basket delivered every day from local Fruiter and Florist David Rhodes. We are even replacing our usual cake Friday with healthy and fat reduced sweet treats to keep with the theme of the week.
‘Here at Madgex we try to encourage people to be physical active as possible due to the nature of our work. We already offer lunchtime yoga, weekly beach volleyball and football. However, when it comes to Nutrition I feel we could all benefit to educate ourselves a little more in Healthy Eating and understand how food affects our energy and well-being levels.’ – Marleen Kinder, Madgex Healthy Workplace Champion
Madgex staff will also have the opportunity to take place in a number of free fitness taster sessions. On top of our usual lunch time yoga session, our yoga instructor Jackie Coulson will be running an extra taster class for any staff who wish to give yoga a try. We have a beach volley ball session, which will see our existing team teach some Madgex novices the basics of beach volley ball. If you happen to be around Brighton sea front on Tuesday lunchtime, look out for our Madgex team who will be running, jogging and walking to the Marina and back in our health week run club.
Wednesday sees the return of our annual Madgex Sports Day which this year is taking place in Ralli Hall in Hove. The teams have been picked, the space hoppers and skipping ropes ordered, all that’s left is for the entrance music to be picked! This event will also be accompanied by a healthy buffet to ensure each team can perform to their best ability.
We also are offering free NHS health check-ups with a local nurse which includes cholesterol testing, blood pressure, body mass index and life style advice, to ensure all our staff are as healthy as they can possibly be. On top of this staff members are being treated to a free sports massage to ease out any knots or strains.
As a company we have worked hard to help combat the health implications that can arise due to the way we work, by introducing a range of initiatives and events to help our employees be as healthy as possible. At Madgex our people matter, the Madgex health week is another way of us helping our staff to keep fit and healthy and most importantly happy.
