Madgex have been at the forefront of cutting edge online recruitment technology for the last 10 years. On 27th of April we hosted our first Future Innovations seminar to openly discuss the technologies we believe will impact the online recruitment industry in the next 12 months. We felt truly privileged by our attendee list which included numerous influential figures from within the publishing and recruitment market.

Over the last few months the Madgex development team has been researching heavily into which technologies will benefit the recruitment process ranging from social media through to mobile devices. We have been closely monitoring our job board network to analyse changing patterns and trends affected by job seekers adopting devices like the iPhone. Having identified some of the key elements we wanted to examine the effects and present our findings.

Simon Conroy kicked of proceedings by welcoming our guests and summarising the importance of breaking down the barriers to new technologies which benefits job seekers and technology providers. Dr Harry Brignull our Head of User Experience then discussed how the adoption of smart phones has fundamentally changed how users access web content. Harry clearly illustrated how over the last 6 months mobile web traffic to the Madgex job board network has dramatically increased and stressed the importance of proving a multi-channel platform to job seekers. This was echoed by Tom Ricca-McCarthy our Global Sales Director who discussed how disruption in the mobile space and social media are changing application usage and expectations. This prompted Madgex to develop a desktop app that job seekers search across multiple job boards.

Next up Dan Meadows, Commercial Director analysed statics generated across a range or sites on the Madgex job board platform. The key findings centre around the sources of application rates and how applying advertising up sells can radically improve application uplifts. Finally, Glenn Jones our Technical Director spoke about social media connectivity and the issues this raises by blending a professional social networking experience with a traditional job board. This concept lead to the creation of ConnectedCV a new CV syncing and aggregation service for job seekers.

Since the event the feedback we received has been overwhelming and speaks volumes in relation to the value placed on sharing knowledge with our peers.

Very useful and interesting seminar and rare these days to attend an event which isn't comprised of un-vetted speakers and speeches promoting self interests! Excellent.” Steve Playford

We will be holding further events dedicated to sharing our latest findings on new technology innovations. If you are interested in taking part then please contact us on 01273 775100 or email
