One of the key themes for publishers this year is the continued implementation of new digital focused business models. The Deutsche Fachpresse Kongress 2013 will bring together leading German trade publishers to discuss the challenges and opportunities a digital first strategy presents. The Congress takes place on 5th - 6th June, and Madgex are extremely proud to be sponsoring the event.

The congress focuses around the transformation from print to digital within the publishing industry. It combines a range of prestigious speakers and workshops designed to discuss the different digital solutions and models available. The publishing landscape is changing rapidly prompting publishers to look for new models and technology to gain a competitive advantage.

Madgex have been working with trade publishers globally for 12 years providing award winning job board technology. With print revenues declining, online recruitment has become a major revenue generation channel for trade publications. Publishers are ideally placed to monetise their niche online audiences by harnessing their targeted readership. This is especially important to attract passive candidates using content integration to display relevant jobs.

In a recent report by the Professional Publishers Association it was estimated that their members would be generating 35% of digital revenues from job boards by 2015. Similarly, the Association of Online Publishers 2013 Organisation Census reported that online recruitment revenues have increased by 11%. This demonstrates that there are significant opportunities for trade publishers to maximise digital revenues from online recruitment.

Currently there are over 1800 job boards in the German market which includes a diverse range of large generalist sites, niche players and aggregators. The leading top 10 job boards publish on average 193,000 jobs each month which in financial terms results in gross monthly sales of €101 million *. We expect to see the number of niche sites increase as they offer jobseekers a more direct channel to relevant jobs. For publishers operating in niche markets now is the ideal time to gain market share by leveraging their audiences.

Madgex will be exhibiting at stand 32 at the Deutsche Fachpresse Kongress, with two experts to help answer any questions you may have about online recruitment. We have extensive experience in working with leading publishers powering their job boards including Springer, Wiley, Haymarket, The Financial Times, The Economist, United Business Media and many more. We look forward to attending the event and meeting members from the German publishing market.
